This is our beautiful home in West Cornwall and as soon as we saw it, we knew it was too good to keep to ourselves.
We moved our family from Oxfordshire to Cornwall in June 2016 looking for a different pace of life and somewhere to create beautiful holiday accommodation for others to escape the rat-race too. And here at Pengelly, we discovered a magical piece of land with lakes, wildflowers, birdlife, andthe biggest, brightest dragonflies we’ve ever seen.
Since our arrival we’ve worked hard on our beautiful land to return it to its natural best, with the ornamental gardens close to the entrance gradually merging into the wild Cornish beauty of the lakes and meadows beyond.
We’ve also built two unique lakeside properties, the dog-friendly Sail House luxury yurt and the Boat House log cabin, to provide a relaxing holiday in Cornwall with unbeatable lake views. We’ve also rented out Pengelly Retreat in its entirety including our Mill House. We’ve welcomed lovely guests many of whom have celebrated special occasions, anniversaries and honeymoons during their stay and even a few who have got engaged here too. And all this in a peaceful rural setting just 15 minutes’ drive from fabulous beaches on the North and South coasts of Cornwall.
In 2022, Pengelly Retreat won both the Gold Award at the Cornwall Tourism Awards and the Bronze Award at the South West Tourism Awards for Best Glamping Business of the Year – which was a lovely recognition for what a special place this is.
