Best Glamping Award Win
And the winner of this year’s Gold Award for Best Glamping Business in Cornwall is…. Pengelly Retreat. Hooray! One of those dream-come-true moments happened today when we found out we’d won Gold at the Cornwall Tourism Awards 2021.
The Online Award Ceremony
The Award Ceremony was online so we had a nervous wait at our computer screen as Daphne Skinnard from BBC Cornwall presented. We were completely thrilled (and a bit teary) when she announced that Pengelly Retreat had won the Gold for the Best Glamping Business of the Year.
We were up against some very strong finalists in the Best Glamping category so really weren’t sure how we would fare. The announcement genuinely came as a very lovely surprise for us. As you can see from the photo, we’d put on jackets and a spangly top (me, not Jim) for the occasion. And truth to tell there was a lot of tea-drinking and anxious biscuit-munching as we watched from Pengelly Retreat.
