Covid-19 – Our Approach and What We Ask of Our Guests
We take a lot of time and care in cleaning our lakeside houses to ensure they are spotlessly clean and ready to welcome our next set of guests. In addition to this, we also ensure that we follow all government and industry Covid-19 guidelines and we regularly review our procedures to make sure they are still appropriate and in line with the guidance.
Enhanced cleaning procedures are carried out each time we turnaround our houses in between sets of guests and these are in line with the cleaning protocols published by PASC UK (The Professional Association of Self-Caterers UK), as recommended by UK Hospitality and the UK government. We are also signed up to the AA Covid-Confident Scheme and were members of the Visit England Scheme Good to Go while this was in operation in 2020 and 2021.
We provide hand sanitiser outside each of our lakeside houses and we ask our guests to sanitise their hands before entry on arrival and after returning to your house after being out for the day.
We ask that you keep your house clean and well ventilated during your stay, as you would when at home. We provide you with cleaning cloths and surface sprays in order to allow you to do this.
If you develop Covid-19 symptoms during your stay at Pengelly Retreat please inform us by phone or email as soon as possible. We ask that you return to your main place of residence if you can safely do so, using your own transport, not public transport. Please note if you need to extend your stay at Pengelly Retreat you will be liable for all costs of the additional nights and the costs of the cancellation of other guests’ holidays.
If before your holiday you find out that you have Covid-19 please get in touch with us as soon as possible. We will be happy to change the dates of your holiday stay with us to an alternative date that suits you, subject to availability of dates. If you come and stay in a different season please note that our rates do vary and you will need to pay for the increased rates if staying at a more expensive time of year.
