Wedding Options & Prices at Pengelly Retreat:
We offer three beautiful ceremony options here:
Option 1: A celebrant-led exchange of vows in the grounds at Pengelly Retreat. Just pick the spot where you’d like to exchange your vows, we can arrange the rest for you. This isn’t a legally binding ceremony and so is more usually for vow renewals.
Option 2: A celebrant-led wedding ceremony where you exchange meaningful vows to one another after completing your Statutory Appointment to complete the legal paperwork with the registrars. The legal paperwork can be done either in Cornwall or at a registry office convenient to your home/work at any time before your celebrant-led wedding.
Option 3: You can combine a legal wedding ceremony in the sub-tropical garden at close-by Tremenheere Sculpture Garden, (just over 20 minutes by car) returning to Pengelly Retreat to enjoy a blissfully relaxed celebration meal and wedding evening together by the lake.

Please note, these package do not include Celebrant’s fees or your Registrar’s fees – these must all be paid direct and indicative prices are given below. If you’d like to hold your legal wedding ceremony at Tremenheere Sculpture gardens the cost of this plus Registrar Fees are not included in the Pengelly Retreat packages and would be paid to them direct.

Celebrant-led Wedding or Registrar-led Ceremony?
The choice is yours!
Our Wedding Co-ordinator, Phoebe, can help you choose your perfect Celebrant, there are some wonderful ones in Cornwall who will create the a beautifully personalised ceremony to celebrate your wedding. Celebrant fees are typically £650 for all their inactions with you prior to your ceremony and for them to attend your ceremony at Pengelly Retreat. Registrar Statutory Appointment fees for the legal signing of marriage documents are typically around £70 and this meeting can take place at any time, either at a Registry Office in Cornwall or at one local to you. Both your Celebrant and your Statutory Appointment must be booked by you and paid direct.
Alternatively, Registrar-led ceremonies for elopements (the couple plus 2 guests) at Tremenheere cost from £800 on weekdays in quieter seasons, and a minimum spend of £1500 on weekend dates throughout the year. We request your chosen date at Tremenheere as part of your booking with us and let you know the cost of this. Tremenheere will invoice you direct for the payment. You will need to book a Registrar to attend your ceremony, Registrar attendance fees cost from £650 and these can be booked via Cornwall Council’s website.

You might like to pamper yourselves with a relaxing spa treatment or massage at your lakeside accommodation. You might want beautiful flowers created for your bouquet and buttonhole, a delicious wedding cake or an amazing bespoke picnic set up for you.
To help you with planning your wedding budget here are typical prices for some of the optional extra touches you might like to consider. Your elopement is completely personal to you, so the choice is yours as to what additional services you would like to add in for your special day.

Please note, there are many different catering options available from excellent locally-based suppliers, from relaxed picnics to silver service dining cooked up by a local chef and served at a beautifully styled table in the gardens or the stream-side tipi. So this price is just an indication and will vary according to what style of celebration meal you choose. Once you have booked your elopement here, our Wedding Co-ordinator Phoebe will be able to chat with you about this and help you choose the perfect caterer for you.
